Nurturing New Leaders, An Onsite Workshop


Nurturing New Leaders is a leadership development workshop that is not just a theory-based study. Instead, it provides the tools to allow aspiring leaders to do the work they need in their hearts and minds, mentally and emotionally, to become competent, intentional, and authentic leaders.


Leadership is a skill that can be learned and nurtured. Authentic leadership results from self-discovery, learning from one’s mistakes, learning from respected leaders, and being mentored by an experienced leader.

Who should participate in this workshop?

  • Current supervisors, managers, or executives with a desire to improve their leadership and communication skills with their peers, team, boss, or company
  • Employees who want to change how their boss or peers perceive them
  • Anyone who aspires to take on a leadership role in the future

Workshop description

This hands-on workshop will teach high-potential managers the skills to become more influential and competent as leaders. The Nurturing New Leaders Workshop will include actionable lessons that attendees can apply immediately in their roles. The eight themes are:

  1. Learn how to be an Authentic Leader
    • The Characteristics of an Authentic Leader
    • Analyze how to become an Authentic Leader
    • Producing results as an Authentic Leader
  2. Discover your leadership tendencies
    • A process to understand your leadership competencies.
    • Discover how others perceive your leadership style and competencies.
    • Identify what the participant is doing well and where you need to improve.
  3. Construct a leadership “Affirmation.”
    • Learn the importance of leading with core values.
    • Participant identifies their leadership core values.
    • Develop a plan to communicate these values and how they will be used as leaders.
    • Using these core values, create a leadership affirmation
  4. Assessment of the participant’s EQ (Emotional Quotient)
    • Learn what EQ is
    • Learn what you can do to improve your EQ
    • Build an EQ improvement plan
  5. Improve your ability to influence others
    • Learn the value of influence.
    • Learn how to communicate convincingly.
    • Learn how to influence up, across, and down the organization.
  6. Learn how to build and sustain a high-performing team
    • Understand the components of a high-performing team.
    • Learn the skill of building a high-performing team.
    • Learn the tactics for supporting a high-performing team
  7. Selecting a leadership mentor
    • Learn the value of a mentor.
    • Learn how to ask for mentoring help.
    • Learn the tactics to get the most out of the mentoring you receive.
    • Learn the value of the methodology of effective one-to-one meetings
  8. Set definitive leadership and career goals.
    • Learn how to develop leadership goals.
    • Learn how to set career goals.
    • Learn the tactics to measure your leadership and career progress.

In addition:

  • A one-hour, one-to-one assessment review of the participant’s completed Leadership Self-Assessment.
  • A one-hour, one-to-one mentoring session will focus on each participant’s current career challenges.

Course Format:

  • The Leadership Workshop is an onsite course.
  • The one-to-one assessment and mentoring sessions are also via Zoom.
  • Class size is limited to 20 attendees

Course Schedule

Two full-day sessions.

All reasonable travel will be billed separately.

Each enrolled attendee will receive a Leadership Self-Assessment by email. This assessment will be completed and returned to before the first session.
